LES JOURS – CAHIERS PHOTOGRAPHIQUES

Résidence 2017

After Marjorie Calle with Diana Alice Lea in 2016, Clémentine Carrié was the filmmaker chosen for the creative film (26’).

The film Les Jours - Cahiers photographiques by Clémentine Carrié, which is kept day by day like a diary, transcribes with accuracy the daily life of three photographers in residence and questions their need to make photographs. From the moment they arrive, along with the team that surrounds them, we follow this trio in their perpetual search and their personal and common peregrinations. An adept of the photographic camera and wet collodion, the alchemist Isreal Arino shares with us the magic of ancient processes, while Leslie Moquin seeks and tests the autumn wind. Christian Sanna follows the epic of the A ropostale in the footsteps of Lat co re. All three of them share their singularities, their doubts and their encounters with us. A true ode to creation, this film bears witness to their determination to understand, divert and sublimate the reality that surrounds them. Each in his own way, at his own pace, echoes the same founding question: “Why do you photograph? The movements inherent to the creative processes of each photographer induce the audiovisual and narrative form of the film. The film resembles a collection of notes gathered in a video diary which, in the end, question the lies between photography and time
